The 1st INFINITY Project workshop for Infrastructure Owners and potential Users took place prior to the TridentCom Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 11 June 2012.
The objective of this event was to build a relationship with - and better understand the needs of - Infrastructure Owners and Use Case developers and to help them appreciate the aims and objectives of The INFINITY Project.
The workshop was attended by infrastructure representatives from Spain, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece and Korea. Representatives from two FI-PPP Use Cases were also there: ENVIROFI and SmartAgriFood.
In preparation for this event, The INFINITY Project team produced a poster for each infrastructure attending, constructed from information about these infrastructures that had previously been entered into the XiPi repository. The Infrastructure Owners were able to use these posters to describe their capabilities, but also to consider how effectively they are representing their capabilities in the XiPi repository.
The posters were further used to gather comments about the infrastructures, and equally to inform The INFINITY Project team about the relevance of the information that we are capturing. Following the workshop the posters were placed in the main TridentCom conference area where all the delegates were invited to comment on the posters, their content and the development of XiPi.
In the final session of the workshop we conducted a SWOT analysis of XiPi to obtain needs and insights for the next stage of development.
